3 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— 2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. 6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.
A mystery always sparks intrigue and interest.
Paul describes this mystery as something God has done and is doing – bringing Jew and Gentile together in His family.
God of course knew from the beginning what He was doing – it just took a little bit of time for Him to reveal it and for us to be ready to catch it! Isaiah had hinted at the Gentiles being part of all God was doing – but now, in Christ, we see God reveal His plan of salvation!
God had always intended the Gentiles, the non-Jewish people of the world into fellowship with Himself – on equal terms – and the Good News is that He accomplished this in Jesus.
I love how God has plans, He brings them about in His time and these plans are not exclusive but inclusive!
I love that God wants me as part of His family – and you as well!! In fact there is no-one He doesn’t want as part of His family!
Father, help me to live in the present reality that You want ALL people to come to You in faith and repentance!
