Hebrews 10:32-39

32 Remember those earlier days after you received the light. At that time you stood firm in a great struggle. You did it even in the face of suffering. 33 Sometimes you were made fun of in front of others. You were treated badly. At other times you stood side by side with people who were being treated like that. 34 You suffered together with people in prison. When your property was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew that God had given you better and more lasting things. 35 So don’t throw away your bold faith. It will bring you rich rewards. 36 You need to be faithful. Then you will do what God wants. You will receive what he has promised. 37 In just a very little while, “The one who is coming will come. He will not wait. 38 The one who is in the right will live by faith. If he pulls back, I will not be pleased with him.” (Habakkuk 2:3,4) 39 But we aren’t people who pull back and are destroyed. We are people who believe and are saved.

It’s good to remember where we’ve been, and to re-evaluate where we are going. The person who submits to the searching of the Holy Spirit will repent of sinful thoughts, attitudes, behaviours, and refocus on Christ. It is hard to forget some things, even with God’s help, and that’s where His cleaning and forgiveness is needed. On the other hand, there are some amazing things we need to write down and remember. We need to recall them and keep them in our memory.

Be encouraged by your walk with Jesus. See His sustaining grace, His provisions, joy of salvation, and praise to His glory and say we saw God do it. Remember how we believed in Christ for salvation and how He has been there for us when there was no other place to turn. We saw Him open doors of opportunity and gave us the privilege to serve Him. Remember those special intimate moments of entering into His presence, and the daily living in Him. These memories cause us to refocus our faith in our great God and Saviour. Remember who we are in Christ. Look forward to the coming of the Jesus Christ in all of His glory.

Maybe we can write our own personal testimony saying what our life was in Christ before salvation, why did I need salvation. What was my salvation like – remember what it was like to be born again, and what has God done in and through my life since he saved me.

Thank you God that I am justified in Jesus. You give me peace, joy and eternity with You. This is something that no one can take away. Help me always to clarify my values, knowing my eternal inheritance is in You.
