Phillippians 4:8-9

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

God talks a lot about having peace in our lives throughout His word. This peace helps us to live well and to walk with God’s grace at all times. One of the ways of building peace into our lives is to have God’s view of our world in our minds more and more. Today’s passage gives us some ideas about how to do this. We have to fix out thoughts on what is beautiful, what is true, what is honourable, what is admirable – what God has said and what He has made. This is something we have to choose to do. It doesn’t just happen. We make choices every day that help us to do this or that help us to completely miss this. It’s about what we do, what we read, what we watch and what we focus on inside our minds. We can say no to our thoughts and change them from what is unhelpful to what is helpful. Try today to take your thoughts to a better place, somewhere with God.

Lord help me to talk to You today when I get into an unhelpful situation. Help me to make better choices and to actually notice things I need to change. Help me to fix my thoughts on You and all You have made.
