Psalm 43

1 God, when you hand down your decision, let it be in my favor. Stand up for me against an ungodly nation. Save me from those lying and sinful people. 2 You are God, my place of safety. Why have you turned your back on me? Why must I go around in sorrow? Why am I beaten down by my enemies? 3 Send out your light and your truth. Let them guide me. Let them bring me back to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. 4 Then I will go to the altar of God. I will go to God. He is my joy and my delight. God, you are my God. I will praise you by playing the harp. 5 My spirit, why are you so sad? Why are you so upset deep down inside me? Put your hope in God. Once again I will have reason to praise him. He is my Savior and my God.

This is a Psalm of great emotions. Pleading to God, affirming his God’s goodness and greatness. Finishing with a desire to be near God and finally full of Praise.

I would like to share with you the Passion Translation of Dr Brain Simmons called “The Psalms – Poetry on Fire”

God, clear my name. Plead my case.

Against the unjust charges of those ungodly workers of wickedness.

Deliver me from these lying degenerates.

For You are my Protector, and my Mountain of Strength.

So why would You leave me now?

Must I be covered with gloom while the enemy comes after me, gloating with glee?

Pour into me the brightness of Your daybreak!

Pour into me Your rays of revelation-truth!

Let them comfort and gently lead me onto the shining path,

Showing the way into Your burning presence,

Into Your many sanctuaries of holiness!

Then I will come closer to Your very altar until I come before You, the God of my ecstatic joy!

I will praise You with the harp that plays in my heart,

To You my God, my magnificent God!

Then will I say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged, don’t be disturbed, for I expect my God to break through for me.

Then I will have plenty of reasons to praise Him all over again.”

Yes, living before His face is my saving grace!

Lord, let this Psalm be a daily experience for me. For You and only You know my heart and love me unconditionally. Amen

It is interesting, I have never noticed this before but
Psalm 42:5 is repeated in Psalm 43:5.
