34 They crossed over the lake and landed at Gennesaret. 35 The men who lived there recognized Jesus. So they sent a message all over the nearby countryside. People brought all their sick to Jesus. 36 They begged him to let those who were sick just touch the edge of his clothes. And all who touched him were healed.
Was there something special and powerful about Jesus’ cloak? It says here that the people begged to touch His cloak and that all who touched it were healed.
I believe that the power displayed here is not in the cloak, but in the faith of the people who reached out for Him. These people were desperate. They wanted to be healed and they begged to touch Jesus. And their faith and desperation brought a powerful response from God.
This challenges me to renew faith and desperation in my prayers. All throughout the scriptures Jesus responds to the people who have heart-felt, desperate faith with demonstrations of His power.
Lord, May my weak and half-hearted prayers be replaced with prayers of faith to reach out and touch Him.
