9 But God chose you to be his people. You are royal priests. You are a holy nation. You are a people who belong to God. All of this is so that you can sing his praises. He brought you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people. But now you are the people of God. Once you had not received mercy. But now you have received mercy.

Declare it!!

What an amazing set of statements.  Statements of being – not doing – yes doing results but because of what Jesus has done we are!  We have not achieved this – God has bestowed it.  Now it is for us to live in it!  I can hear God speaking over me, over you – You are my special possession!  Previously I was without ownership – now I am one of God’s people!  What a tribe to belong to!!  That’s what I observe – that’s what I hear!

So how do I apply it?

Firstly I have to get over my own self view, whether positive or negative – I have to agree with God deep in my spirit!  Have to not simply accept but embrace God’s declaration over me!  So I declare it!  I speak over myself God’s view of who I am.  I am one of God’s chosen people, I am part of God’s royal priesthood, I am part of God’s holy nation, I am one of God’s special possessions, I declare the praises of him who called me out of darkness into his wonderful light.  Once I was not part of God’s people, but now I am one of the people of God; once I had not received mercy, but now I have received mercy.

Father may I experience Your truth living in me day by day.
