3 John 1-4

1 The elder, To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth. 2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

What a great prayer to pray for a friend, a brother or sister in Christ!  Good health, life to the full!  How wonderful it is to hear good news about those we minister to and with, especially the impact they are making from those on whom the impact for Jesus is made.

I find myself thinking about the nature of my prayers for others – what is their content – am I praying ‘motherhood’ prayers or prayers of faith, blessing and real meaning.  This is certainly my desire.

Father help me to pray with faith and in blessing for all those you call me to pray for!

  1. Justin Ware says:

Too often I find myself focusing on what is going wrong, what is undesirable and what is frustrating, and working on how I can fix any concerns or problems in my world. I am convicted by this passage to make sure that I also offer more encouragement to those around me who are doing great work for His kingdom, particularly those who often don’t get recognition!
