1 Peter 1:10-12

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

This passage challenges me afresh, of the greatness and grandeur of God and His plan for humanity. Despite the trials and struggles we endure on earth, God is outworking His plan to bring us into glory with Him through salvation. What strikes me most is verse 12c, where it says, “It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.” It amazes me that God’s angels in heaven are still anticipating the things He has in store for those who believe.

Thinking about the mystery of heaven, encourages me to press on in my faith and share the gospel in any opportunity that God gives me. I am challenged to think about the times I am not paying attention.

Lord God, thank You for the grace that You shower on me. Thank You that You desire to spend eternity with me. Please help me to share Your Word boldly. In Jesus’ name.
