Matthew 26:1-5
26 When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples, 2 “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.” 3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, 4 and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. 5 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.”
God had a plan, Jesus knew the plan and, even though He knew what it involved, Jesus stuck to the plan. The priests and leaders had a plan but they didn’t stick to it. They took Jesus during Passover even though they had decided not to do it then. Says everything about how we can approach things and how God does – we tend to chop and change and we end up doing some things at the worst possible times.
It is reassuring that when God has plans He sticks to them, He doesn’t get distracted or jump too soon. He wants to help us with our plans too. He wants to bring His wisdom to our dreams and desires. It’s sad that sometimes our leaders don’t have the same approach.
Thank You Lord that Your plans are trustworthy and wise and that You want to bring that to each of our plans. Help us to bring our plans to You. Help us to listen to You.
