Genesis 1:1
Oh, how I can hear the cry of Korah’s heart in this Psalm. (these are the worship leaders of old)
He knows His God has fought enemies for years before. Tyranny, war, pagan idols have never quenched the power and testimony of God Himself. He is God no matter what it looks like on earth for the people of God. For centuries God brings supernatural victories not as a result of force, strength or strategy but from prayer.
God is the one who gives victory over every situation we face. Verse 3: “They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from your face that helped them, for you loved them.”
It never comes down to how clever we are, how much we know about something.
God can blind even the smartest person. Verse 6-7: “I do not trust in my bow; I do not count on my sword to save me. You are the one who gives us victory over our enemies;”
I wonder what you are facing today, tomorrow, this year. The only person who holds all the power and all the wisdom, is God Himself. Our faith needs to REST in HIM.
He has got it – He holds your present and He holds your future. And……..He loves YOU!!
Jesus, you defeated death itself. Help me not to be anxious or worry but to trust in your unending love for me and commitment to my future.
Amen…

Thanks Sue – great insights
Here are some of mine from this morning’s SOAP Group.
I am taken with verse 1 – “O God, we have heard it with our own ears— our ancestors have told us of all you did in their day, in days long ago.”
This reminds me of the power and importance of telling our stories of God’s interventions in our lives. Reminding people and remembering for ourselves of God and His interactions in our lives is crucial. Father, mothers, uncles, aunts, leaders, followers telling their stories of the breakthroughs by God in their lives are so inspiring and so necessary.
We need to tell our stories!
Father help me to tell others of the little and large interventions You bring into my life.
This is amazing, God bless you, amen
This Psalm is so beautifully written in The Passion Translation (TPT) – Psalm 44
