Tuesday 3 May 2022 – Transformed week 1
Sometimes “…the one who is in the world” seems pretty strong. You only have to watch the news to catch even a glimpse of the unspeakable evil that happens daily in our world. Yet, I think that’s the point – the power of evil should make me marvel at the even greater power of goodness, mercy, and sacrificial love that is our God. And even better still, that power lives in me!
The Passion Translation of this verse uses words like “certain”, “conquered” (as in past-tense), and “… far greater”. How is this power available to us? Through the Holy Spirit – promised to every disciple of Jesus. But … ”how does this work?” I feel myself asking. How do I live day to day in the reality that God is greater, stronger, has won the war over evil, sin, the devil, and death? Faith.
It’s a bit like my car…there’s fuel in the tank and charge in the battery. It has 4 wheels and I have the key. It’s all done and ready to go. All that’s left is for me to turn the key. This victory, won by Jesus, is ready to go. It’s time I changed my thinking from fear to faith. Time to turn on the key of my faith, believe that Jesus is greater, and walk in the victory He has already won.
Lord, your Word says I am to live by faith, not by sight (see 2 Corinthians 5:7). Help me own this truth, in a big way today, that You are far greater than anything the world or the devil will throw at me. And because this power lives in me, I will not be afraid. Amen

Love that encouragement: go out & live a life that is a reflection of He who has conquered & now lives in us.
Great reflection and good to remember each time I start my car. God has got this.
God bless you multiple
