Most people should say that they want to be wise – no one would prefer to be stupid/silly/foolish! We live in a culture which hold wisdom as high value- science and learning are considered to be most important. But maybe in God there is more. These verses tell me 2 things. Firstly if I want to be wise I have to make intentional effort. I need to learn what God requires (love and faithfulness) then actually live it. And secondly there are benefits to living God’s way- long life, peace, prosperity, respect and favour with God.  So while I am not saying worldly wisdom is unimportant, God’s way will add so much more to our lives. The benefits of living God’s way sound pretty good to me, how about you?

Jesus, I thank you that you always make a way for us. Thank you God that you want good lives for each one of us. Help my heart to be full of love for you and for others. Help me to life my life faithful to the calling you have placed on us all. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen
