MUSIC
We are a church with a strong heritage of expressing our love for God through worship and songwriting. Our weekly worship services have been held in school halls since 1994, and this has been an opportunity for us to refine our contemporary worship sound whilst challenged by the limitations of being a portable church. Like many churches we set up from scratch every week, which might sound daunting, but rather it has built a profound sense of unity and strength in our team over the years. A beautiful thing about our Worship Team is that it is truly cross-generational. Many of the founding worship team members are still serving, often alongside their now grown children.
After many years of songwriting, in 2018 we stepped into recording and releasing our Debut EP ‘Alpha’. This project took 18 months and was recorded in office spaces and bedrooms, and the product was 5 homegrown songs that have resonated deeply throughout our congregation. In August 2019 we celebrate 25 years. As we look to the future, we are passionately wanting to explore new and fresh ways to elevate Jesus through music.
“There’s a power and authenticity in writing our own songs, and it’s great to see our team step into recording them. It feels as though a new day is upon us and we’re chasing wholeheartedly to what we feel God is calling us to. The best is yet to come, and with our many skilled worshipers and songwriters we’re excited to see what the future holds.
So yes, as it is declared in Psalm 40:2, He has set our feet upon a rock, He has given us a firm place to stand, and we will not be moved from the mission God has set before us as we move forward!”
