Help Me to See Like You Jesus
Philippians 3:12-16
12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
15 Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. 16 But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.
As I read verse 12, I note that we are all on a journey, each of us different, each of us at different stages of our lives and of our faith journey, each of us journeying towards a goal that ends in Jesus.
I rejoice that we are all on different journeys in different spaces. Some are more challenging than others, but God is with us, and His promises is to never leave us nor forsake us. How wonderful, we can all carry each other on this journey, when needed.
In all my years I still have moments I don’t understand, but I choose to trust. I choose to live in the “space” of not fully revealed and not fully understanding. But God. My God will reveal it to me at some point in His time. I rather love verse 15: “and if on some point you think differently that too God will make clear to you (and me)”.
God, I thank you that you know all, and you love each one of us. Thank you for our different journeys that we can bring your image into better focus as we walk together. Help me Lord to be caring, loving, patient, and kind in this journey of life. I want others to see you, in me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
