The God who sees
Psalm 134
A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.
1 Oh, praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord,
you who serve at night in the house of the Lord.
2 Lift your hands toward the sanctuary,
and praise the Lord.3 May the Lord, who made heaven and earth,
bless you from Jerusalem.
What a short but beautiful Psalm! This is a call to praise for all those who minister in the dark, who quietly serve God and people, who love in unseen ways. Praise God, lift your hands! For there IS one who sees, and He is the maker of heaven and earth, the king of kings, the top name – HE sees. And may He bless you.
Lord thank you that you see the unseen. You see what is done in secret. Those moments when I choose patience instead of a quick response, when I lay down my pride, when I give joyfully, when I pray for people in the quiet place, you see! Lord, please help me to love without need for acknowledgement or praise or thanks. Help me to love as you love – sacrificially, fearlessly and without thought of self. For as for me, I am loved by The One Who Sees.
